Partial diversion of the Portneuf River (Archived)

Description: Hydro-Québec has submitted a proposal to partially divert the Portneuf River to the Pipmuacan Reservoir. This project is located in the North Shore region of Quebec.

Decision of the Minister of the Environment: On August 7, 2002, following a review of public comments and the environmental assessment report, the Minister has determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. The project has been referred back to the responsible authority, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, for appropriate action.
