Waskaganish Permanent Road (Archived)

Description: The Waskaganish Band Council has submitted a proposal to construct a permanent road to link the Indian Reserve of Waskaganish to the Matagami-LG2 road, in the northern part of the province on James Bay.

Decision of the Minister of the Environment: On July 2, 1999, following a review of public comments and the environmental assessment report, the Minister concluded that the project is unlikely to cause significant adverse environmental effects and referred the project back to the responsible authorities for appropriate next steps.
