Description: Suncor Energy Ltd. has submitted a proposal to expand its oil sands operation in northern Alberta.
Decision of the Minister of the Environment: On January 20, 1999, following a review of public comments and the environmental assessment report, the Minister concluded that the project is unlikely to cause significant adverse environmental effects and referred the project back to the responsible authority for appropriate next steps.
