Musselwhite Gold Mine (Archived)

Description: Placer Dome Ltd. has submitted a proposal to construct and operate a gold mine near Opapimiskan Lake, in northern Ontario.

Decision of the Minister of the Environment: On November 17, 1995, following a review of public comments and the environmental assessment report, the Minister concluded that the project is unlikely to cause significant adverse environmental effects and referred the project back to the responsible authority for appropriate next steps.
