Decommissioning of CFS Debert (Archived)

Nova Scotia

Description: The Department of National Defence has submitted a proposal to decommission Canadian Forces Station Debert, located approximately 20 km west of Truro in the northwestern part of the province.

Decision of the Minister of the Environment: On May 28, 1998, following a review of public comments and the environmental assessment report, the Minister concluded that the project is unlikely to cause significant adverse environmental effects and referred the project back to the responsible authority for appropriate next steps.
