I support the initiative to improve regional mobility, but I strongly object to the current proposal.

The Aviation Parkway is much more than a roadway; it is an NCC-protected cultural landscape. It is a highly valued urban green space where families run, cycle, and enjoy the natural environment. It also successfully performs its historic, designated purpose: helping thousands of daily commuters bypass heavy highway gridlock.

The current plan to widen the parkway and designate it as a major freight route will destroy both vital functions. It replaces a scenic, tranquil public asset with a traffic-heavy corridor. The project's own studies confirm that noise, traffic, and airborne pollutants will rise significantly along these existing roads. This approach fails local citizens and will replace a cherished green space with localized neighborhood congestion and environmental degradation. Ultimately, this design does not solve the region's congestion issues; it simply relocates them. Technical studies confirm that the project will introduce substantial traffic, noise, and airborne emissions to areas where they do not currently exist. This project will create a new, permanently congested gridlock zone in our neighborhoods.
