Respectfully, we submit that every issue/impact involved in building a bridge, will be 100% avoided by building a full length tunnel under the same trajectory being considered. With modern tunnelling techniques, and full to year-round work scheduling, the tunnel will be found to beat any bridge scheme on all counts.- including cost, Bird habitat disruption, traffic chaos, and disfigurement of landscape not necessarily in this order. Engineers will agree - constant boring machines will silently deliver rain or shine and not disrupt the 2 cities and especially the river.
