Restoration of Watershed Subsystems in Welikanda DSD, Polonnaruwa District, Sri Lanka
The ACCESS Sri Lanka Project, implemented by World Vision Lanka, includes watershed subsystem restoration activities within the Welikanda Divisional Secretariat Division (DSD) in Polonnaruwa District, Sri Lanka. The project aims to strengthen climate resilience, improve sustainable water resource management, and support agricultural livelihoods in local communities.
The physical activities include the rehabilitation of existing irrigation reservoirs, desilting of reservoirs and irrigation canals, repair of existing water management infrastructure, watershed restoration activities, erosion control measures, riparian vegetation restoration, and activities related to water resource management and protection.
