Saint Mary River

To whom it may concern;

The proposed mine within the ST. Mary River watershed in my opinion would be a travesty pushed upon the future exisence of the majestic Atlantic Salmon.

Here in the United States, the Northeast in particular, there have been so many barriers put in front of Atlantic Salmon in the last 150 years including dams, dams and more dams with inadequate fish ladders, polution ,as well as overfishing when it was allowed. Great strides have been made by ASF, DSF and other organizations in the US and Canada to try to stop the total annialation of a species. Impacted by aquaculture containment pens spreading disease to wild salmon where they still exist and inadequate laws regarding cleanup, both during operation and after a facility has been shut down.

The wonderful volunteers and Salmon organizations who fight to keep these fish healthy should be rewarded with adequate funding and a watchful government geared to protecting our natural resources and wildlife. ONCE IT'S GONE, IT'S GONE.
