Support by local youth

As a young person who has grown up in rural Nova Scotia my whole life, I am in full support of the 15-Mile Processing Hub Project. I am a graduate from the nearby Musquodoboit Rural High School, and was honoured to receive a scholarship from the mine. This award helps support me to further my education in the environmental sector and pursue my dream of being a Marine Biologist.

As a young person who loves Nova Scotia deeply and wants to genuinely build a life and career here in the future, I know firsthand how difficult it is to find job opportunities for someone with little experience. The 15-Mile Processing Hub Project offers sustainable, economical projects that help create reliable, fulfilling, long-term positions for many people in the community, and will help fuel the generations to come with positions that help them to remain in the beautiful province we call home. St Barbara, by investing in the education of rural youth, has proven that they care about supporting both local communities and the environment, and their continuing presence is a vital contribution towards our future.
