The greed of man knows no bounds, the mine operators will say and do just about anything to convince the public to allow this work to begin but when the gold peters out the money will dry up and they will be gone leaving an environmental mess for the province and taxpayers to clean up. I am 65 years old and have spent most of my life on and around the St.Mary's river. When I am there I feel as though I am in one of natures most beautiful areas. The Cochran Hill or Old Mitchell mine going through would destroy one of the few rivers in Nova Scotia where the Atlantic Salmon still have a reasonable foothold and the peaceful surroundings would be decimated. Most support for this project comes from greed and selfishness, let nature be for future generations to enjoy. Please do not give in to a flash in the pan gold rush mentality so that some already rich shareholders can become more wealthy and run to the next region to do the same. Leave these areas as pristine as possible, your children's children will thank you and the gold will still be there.
