As a lifelong resident of Nova Scotia, I am supportive of the proposed 15-Mile Processing Hub Project.

As an individual working within the healthcare sector, I have seen firsthand the significance of having a solid local economic base in all areas of Nova Scotia. The creation of stable employment with good pay for individuals not only enhances the quality of living for those individuals and their family members, it also has positive effects on local dining establishments, retail stores, service providers, and a multitude of small business operators which contribute positively to communities.

The efforts to minimize the environmental impact of this project as well as St Barbara’s record of investing in community and mine reclamation efforts are encouraging. While it is vital that new developments be evaluated under strict criteria, there does appear to have been considerable effort made to improve the overall design of the project based upon input provided by regulatory agencies, local communities, and the Mi'Kmaq of Nova Scotia.

In addition to providing jobs and stimulating local economic activity through job related spending, I recognize that the 15-Mile Processing Hub Project will assist in developing opportunities for residents to develop their own career paths and build their lives here in Nova Scotia.

I feel that the 15-Mile Processing Hub Project provides a viable opportunity for beneficial contributions to the Province of Nova Scotia while maintaining a strong emphasis on responsible environmental practices. Therefore, I am supportive of further development of the 15-Mile Processing Hub Project.
