Learning from the Past, Investing in Nova Scotia’s Future

As a Nova Scotian who was born and raised in this province, I strongly support the proposed 15-Mile Processing Hub Project.

Throughout my career, I worked in the energy sector and witnessed firsthand the impact that the closure of major industrial operations can have on workers, families, and local communities. When the Imperial Oil refinery in Dartmouth closed in 2013, many good-paying jobs were lost and the effects were felt throughout the region.

Because of that experience, I understand the importance of creating and maintaining strong industries that provide stable employment opportunities for Nova Scotians. The 15-Mile Processing Hub Project has the potential to create hundreds of long-term jobs while generating significant economic activity throughout the province.

I am also encouraged by the project’s redesign, the company’s commitment to reclamation, and its investment in local communities. Responsible resource development has an important role to play in Nova Scotia’s future, and I believe this project deserves support.
