Fabrication and Installation of Land-Based Oyster Aquaculture Hatchery Systems in Serasa, Brunei Darussalam
This is a non-designated project on federal lands or outside Canada. The listed authorities are responsible for the project assessment.
The proposed project will include the fabrication and delivery of shipping containers that will be used as modular oyster hatchery units. These units will contain Clean Valley hatchery technology and will be installed in Serasa, Brunei Darussalam on a parcel of land (5°00'19.1"N 115°03'54.6"E) owned by Poni Marine. The site currently has a cement pad for the placement of the hatchery units and water, power and sewer services will be connected from the new units to existing infrastructure on site. No further site preparation is required. The intent of the project is to have fully operational hatchery units producing initial test batches of oyster spat, in order to supply local and neighbouring oyster farmers and industries around Brunei.
