Please find attached an open letter submitted on behalf of myself, my family, and some concerned residents of the Indus, Alberta area, expressing our strong opposition to the proposed BeaconAI data centre and the Indus Power Generation LP thermal power plant.

As outlined in the attached letter, these projects raise serious concerns regarding water supply and groundwater protection, air and noise impacts, traffic and road safety, property values, agricultural land loss, land-use compatibility, precedent-setting impacts, and the adequacy of public engagement. Many affected residents were not aware of public engagement sessions until late in the process, limiting meaningful participation on proposals with long-term and irreversible consequences for our community.

Given the proximity of these developments to homes, farms, a school, and community recreation facilities, we respectfully request that cumulative environmental and social impacts be carefully considered, and that long-term water security, rural livability, and agricultural sustainability be prioritized in any decision-making.
