Environmental assessment scope – Meaford pumped storage project

I am an Ontario resident writing regarding the proposed Meaford pumped storage project.

At this early stage, I am not taking a position, but I ask that the environmental assessment be rigorous and transparent. In particular, it should carefully examine impacts on species at risk, habitat loss, Georgian Bay water quality and fish habitat, and any contamination risks related to the military site.

I also ask that less impactful alternatives be meaningfully considered, and that the process include independent oversight, Indigenous consultation, and public transparency.
