As a long term resident of northern Ontario (and currently Dryden) and a chemistry student and teacher for over 20 years, I am very familiar with the hazards of unstable uranium. It would be hot and if not contained appropriately it would be fluid and extremely dangerous. I am concerned with the water, soil and the environment in general. This could lead to a very serious problems and every study should be undertaken to ensure the safety of people and wildlife in the area. Transporting it on the highway makes it  a safety issue all on its own. I honestly don't know how this could be done where it could be safely contained for hundreds of thousands of years - that time frame being a study in itself. I would like to express my concern about the process to the officials involved. I am 85 years old but I am deeply concerned for future generations. Any time you are making decisions that could leave a mess for the next generation, we have a huge responsibility to them to not invite disaster.
