I am writing to comment on the NWMO's "Deep Geological Depository Project".

First, the project must be designated for a full impact assessment and public hearing.  Second, transportation must be included in the assassment.  And third, all alternatives must be considered.

The nuclear waste products pose a danger to us all for thousands of years to come. It is not OK to transport them through populated areas where spillage and radioactive contamination could easily occur. Nor is it OK to bury them somewhere where they would contaminate the surrounding soil and groundwater and blight future generations. There is no good option that we know of to dispose of these materials so the only responsible thing to do is to STOP producing them. Nuclear power is the most dangerous and the most expensive way to produce electricity.  Lets use real renewables  like solar, wind, geothermal and hydro power.  And lets be honest about the real reason we  need more electicity, which is because of our ever growing use of the internet and AI.
