Good Day

I feel that people in Northwestern Ontario are being misinformed by the fact that NWMO did not include any information about the transportation of the spent nuclear fuel in a 12 hundred page description of the project.

I have lived in Kenora all my life, over the past 4 or 5 years I have monitored and read new article after new article about how dangerous Highway 11 and 17 are. I have copies of over 97 accidents that have taken place from Thunder Bay to the Manitoba border ( I don't have many from Thunder Bay as I do not review their news regularly) The point is, the highway from Sault Ste. Marie to the Manitoba board is just two-lanes, with many sharp corners, rock cuts and very few passing lanes (that the tractor trailers think they own) it can be a very scary road.

The Rural Ontario Municipal Association met in Toronto with the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association recently and both group spoke about the dangers that are very present when traveling on Hwy 11 and 17. The distance for this waste to travel would take approximately 24 hours, and they plan to make several trips a week, along with escord vehicles.

I truly hope they take the time to have a look at this serious sitiation, and hopefully we can keep the death toll down?
