Hi There:

I am not a nuclear fuel scientist, but in my past role as environmental scientist have administrated provincial environmental assessment processes. It is clear to me from the experts I have listened to that the Transportation of the expended nuclear fuel cannisters needs to be included in the project description to address:

- the fact that this type of waste has not been transported before, particularly in light of: the vast distance through distinct ecosystems and communities (un-necessary when the same geological conditions exist at the site where the waste is generated); the fact that there increasingly unpredictable and extreme weather which will be made worse by the convoy of trucks over many years for this; the regular (and likely increasing) transport truck crashes; and the fact that the site selection excluded consideration of these factors to date.

I live in the area, my children hope to live in the area. We do not want this waste. We want reduction in the demand for electricity and renewable forms of energy which we know are cheaper and not policitically driven.

Thank you.

Shannon
