The continued operation of nuclear power plants for decades has produced tons of waste with no real solution to deal with it. Plans to expand nuclear power generation are unconscionable.

To move existing waste to a remote location is not a solution. There can be no guarantee that the proposed storage site will keep this waste secure.  We will be leaving a tickiing time bomb for future generations.

Transport of the existing waste such long distances without a full environmental assessment of the risk is equally irresponsible.

We should reduce the production of this waste to a bare minimum asap and maintain constant monitoring of existing storage sites, where they currently exist, until a real solution to the problem is found.

This dangerous and costly project is not a solution.
