  • I live close to the Trans Canada Highway in Northwestern Ontario. The high number of accidents along this highway every year is very well known by the local community. Sometimes we hear the crashes as they happen. The very idea of excluding transportation risks in the discussions is appalling, as is not involving input from the very communities that will be affected. It is a flagrant disregard for human and animal life in the interests of profit and power, with no responsibility for any conflagration or contamination that may occur as a result of an accident or leak along the route. This is not a transparent examination of the initial project description. How can an informed decision be made when the communities and their citizens are being duped?
