Transportation issue needs to be included

I appreciate the opportunity to comment on this very important matter.  I am a “concerned citizen” for many different reasons regarding the proposed DGR.  But, I will focus on the Transportation issue that I understand is not being taken into consideration at the moment.  I found the following quote from Natural Resources Canada which is simple, self explanatory and extremely important:

https://natural-resources.canada.ca/sites/nrcan/files/engagements/radwaste/Nuclear%20Waste%20Watch.pdf

Quote:Transport of radioactive waste entails different risks from transport of radioactive commodities that are uniform in composition and are well characterized. Radioactive waste generally contains a complex mixture of radioisotopes. Its components are difficult to characterize and pose a range of significant hazards in the event of accidental release. The lack of regulations and standards specific to transport of radioactive waste creates unacceptable risks to conveyers, first responders, and the general public. Transport of radioactive waste should not take place without strong justification, full transparency, and public input

Just one more comment below, but I could go on and on. Thank you.  Please take this matter seriously and take the appropriate action for all of Canada.

There is not an operating DGR anywhere in the world at the moment, but Finland is close.  Their situation is totally different from Canada though, because they only have to transport their high level waste a very short distance compared to Canada having to transport 1,000’s of kms for many years.
