As an Indigenous person in NB, my first concern is that there has been inadequate consultation with First Nations. Consultation does not mean just telling us what the plan is, it would be having real conversations and actually listening to First Nations leaders opinions. Getting paid consent from one or two communities is not consent, it's a farce. Most of our leaders would say no, in fact most Canadians would. IF THEY KNEW ABOUT IT! so quiet, sneaky...why? Because its not a good thing. Not enough time has been given for a full response and the public hasn't been adequately informed. This proposed project could potentially affect many, many communities as well as much of Canada and the world. No thought or mention has been made about how to safely transport all the waste. This just raises alarms for me. There is so much wrong about this proposed project!! The waste should stay where it is and be closely monitored. Burying it is completely irresponsible. None of us know how safe or unsafe that can be. It's too dangerous. The watersheds must be considered. This poison could and likely will leach into the watershed and spread. We all owe future generations respect, consideration and care. Typically my people think about the effects of things for 7 generations forward. This would affect many more generations in a negative way, possibly forever. Don't we all owe it to the earth and future humankind to take good care of things while we're here? There isn't one good thing about this proposed plan.
