Also, all the ways that interested parties may become involved. This allows for anyone impacted by the project to engage at all of the stages of the Impact Assessment process. It allows for being informed and clearly delineating how to participate. This should always be done as early on as is possible to provide an opportunity for the public to be engaged. They will then be included in considering the many and varied impacts that are associated with the project.   • As of 2023, Kinross was still was still doing surface exploration drilling at the Great Bear Gold site. From 2017 to the end of 2022, the site had 1167 borehole drilled totaling more than 560 km in length. Table 1 below summarises the drilling activities at the site since 2017. . Section 13 – Effects of Potential Accidents or Malfunctions In Section 13.1, Risk Assessment, the proponent must ‘provide an explanation of how these events were identified (e.g. information sources, recognized risk assessment methodology, professional expertise, similar project, participants’ input)’. Overall, the points that are elucidated by IAAC in Section 13.1 – Risk assessment, are very comprehensive, requiring the identification of risks from any accidents, specifically, should they occur in close proximity to the mine site.
