The initiative to improve the educational outcomes of 16,000 adolescent girls in the second cycle of basic education in Mali (SCOFI) is funded by the Canadian government through Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and implemented by CowaterSogema, in partnership with the OneDrop Foundation and in collaboration with WaterAid Canada (WAC), WaterAid Mali (WAM), Forum des Éducatrices Africaines (FAWE), and the Centre Culturel Kôrè (CCK). The project will be implemented in close collaboration with The National Directorate of Basic Education (DNEF) of the Ministry of Education (MEN) of Mali. To ensure a positive learning environment, the SCOFI project will construct 8 water pipes ranging from 120m to 320m in length in 8 schools in the Segou region.
