• Transport Canada will be issuing an approval for three (3) proposed culvert replacements on the Berens River. Berens River First Nation applied to the Navigation Protection Program (NPP) for approval under the Canadian Navigable Waters Act (CWA). Through their Environmental Effects Evalua%on Form Transport Canada has determined that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.   Department of Fisheries and Oceans will be issuing a Letter of Approval for the three culvert installations. The Approval Letter will include specific mitigation measures/requirements for the installations. In addition, DFO will likely be issuing a permit under the Species at Risk Act for protection of the Maple leaf mussel.  The proponent engaged DFO through its request for review ...
