Vista Coal Mine expansion application

Dear Sirs/Madams;

In light of recent news of the G7 on climate change issues, I feel the Vista Coal Mine's request for expansion should not be approved. I also believe our governemnt needs to focus on the problems at hand regarding reclamation of this or any other mine, and especially regarding selenium and other toxins entering into, and causing environmental disaster to our streams, rivers, lakes and air before further consideration of any future mine projects. Water is our most precious natural resource and it's health and welfare needs to be top priority. Another issue here is the fact that Vista mines could possibly go bankrupt and, as we have seen in Oil & Gas regarding abandoned drill rigs in this province, the taxpayers will end up holding the bill for environmental clean-up of the remains of the mine. Should the UCP decide to bail out Vista Mine to push the project forward, that too will cost tax payers huge sums of much needed funds for else where. The concern and wants of the mine's shareholders needs to be second, after the health of the environment and all Albertans, physically and financially. Thank you for listening.

Kind regards,

Kelly Blackstock
