Concerned about Vista

I am very concerned over any surface mining that is planned for the Rockies and Eastern Slopes. Through all my research, I do not see any evidence that the coal companies will be able to keep selenium and other pollutants out of the rivers and streams and I certainly have no faith that they will properly reclaim the area at the end of their operations. I think coal mining can be done safely in other areas but certainly not in the mountainous areas of Alberta which are already environmentally sensitive and home to multiple species at risk. We must also protect our rivers and streams to keep the water clean and plentiful.

Thank you for your consideration!
