Unacceptable

It is completely unacceptable that we are considering expansion of mining activitiy in this sensitive area. This area coincides with the habitat of caribou, a threatened species. We know that habitat disruption and degradation are primary reasons for their declining population. We know that mining contributes to GHGs; we know that extractive industries are sunset industries and completely incompatible with climate goals. We know that ungulate species in Alberta (bighorn sheep) have already displayed high rates of selenium as have fish and birds. There is no viable reason for Albertans nor the Canadian government to co-sign on and sponsor this kind of destruction.
