Exploratory Drilling Environmental Impact

Exploratory drilling offshore newfoundland has a very small environmental footprint. The ocean floor footprint is small as there are only acute distinct areas where they wellhead and BOP is laid. This area will not fishermen or other activity in the area. It is a exploratory campaign in which no hydrocarbons will be brought to surface for production. The purpose of the campaign is to get a more in depth knowledge of the potential hydrocarbon reserves in the area. Exploratory drilling offshore NL has little to no impact on marine life, seabirds, or groundfish and the process should be streamlined as it is in Norway and Australia which both have exceptional environmental standards.
