Great for the region

I am 34 years of age and have resided in Lynn Lake my entire life. Throughout my youth I’ve had the unfortunate opportunity to experience the negative impacts of previous mine closures, this included the loss of hundreds of residents, jobs, small businesses, recreation, transportation and a decline in the overall wellbeing of the community.  Present day, many of the small businesses that remain struggle to keep their doors open, there is little recreation and the community is plagued by rising social issues.

I have had the opportunity to work with Alamos in a few different capacities since they have arrived.  Their contributions and commitments towards the community have already created a positive impact.  In my experience as the General Manager of Northwest Manitoba Community Futures I strongly believe Alamos has been highly informative and transparent in their intentions and are always available to answer any questions community stakeholders in the region may have.

I fully support the advancement of the Alamos Mine Project in Lynn Lake.  The project is imperative to rebuilding a healthy community and local economy.
