Under freezing conditions, the fog can condense and freeze around power lines, causing the lines to be damaged or break, and leading to increased power outages in the area.  You own a hunting lodge downstream of the proposed location of the dam. You are concerned that an obstruction in the Peace River will adversely affect your ability to travel on the Peace River by boat as you have normally done. After reviewing the presentation from the DFN Traditional Knowledge and Monitoring Committee, who have been working closely and collaboratively with the project proponents over the past several months, it is recognized that our traditional and historical land and watercourse uses, fish, migratory bird and wildlife habitat, and both cultural and spiritual values could all be impacted, either directly or indirectly, by the project. Accordingly, the Nation's Aboriginal and Treaty Rights would also be impacted. Recommendation: To ensure proper and full due diligence in assessing these impacts, our position is that a full Environmental Impact Assessment process be required and undertaken. I read the document several times and admire the writing, but am of the opinion that details about the environmental impacts are a bit sketchy and that the document does not describe adequately how the proponent intends to mitigate impacts . I care about this project because I grew up on the banks of the Peace River and still own a quarter (SE 5- 83-6W6) in the proposed project area where I reside periodically in the summer. I heard about the Amisk proposal in October while visiting neighbors; I have had no direct contact from the proponent, despite an email to them.
