From Jamie Reid to the Joint Review Panel re: Comments on the Grassy Mountain Coal Project

Hello,
I would like to make it clear that I strongly oppose any mining on the eastern slopes, especially in Southern Alberta. The landscape is already very fragmented by various uses, open pit coal mines will negatively impact the water quality/flora and fauna. Of all the energy projects this current government is pursuing this is by far the most concerning, these mines will cause unrepairable damage to the environment and to the local tourism sector. People come from all over the world to see and experience HWY22 ranch country and the fishing and hiking in our mountains. Mines and selenium spills are not welcome here. I implore you to disapprove these mining projects.
Regards,
