I am a resident of the Crowsnest Pass, where I was born and raised.  Riversdale Resources (Grassy Mountain Project) has been within the community for a few years, and my support for them comes with the future they can provide to our community. The Crowsnest Pass has had many residents over the years relocated due to industries closing down, most recently our natural gas plant. When these industries keep the population, losing them only decrease the overall income brought into the community. Riversdale Resources’s Grassy Mountain Project can bring back to our community a indusrty and overall income, which it has desperately needed for many years now.

I work in the healthcare sector of the community, and have concerns with it’s future. I see first hand how difficult it is to recruit physicians to the area. If the project begins production and creates jobs to the community, physicians could be incited to move to a rural community that has something to offer. Most importantly physicians can only provided our community care if they are given the funding needed. Commuting outside the community is the only option for many when seeking extended medical attention. Riverside Resources project's ability to bring coal mining back to the community could in the long term entice health workers/Physicians to move to our area and overall extend the level of care to the community.

I would love to see us be given the opportunity for our community to reach its potential once again. This project can be the positive transformation that allows my generation the opportunity to raise a family in our community. I would love to have a family of my own in the community I have always called home. My generation can prosper in our community given the possibility of an industry creating jobs and economic growth. We have needed this, we have needed the opportunity to turn our local natural coal resources back into the wealth of our community. Coal mining have always been apart of our towns history, it’s now time it becomes part of our future also.
