  • Please say NO to the Project.  Indigenous peoples live here.  Their homes would be destroyed, and they would be subject to the toxicity of mining.  The mine would also destroy the habitats of fish, birds, woodland caribou, pine martens, and plenty of other animals. During this climate emergency, we can not afford to destroy forests and wildlife habitat.   Mining is harmful to all life, and to the planet.  Forcing fish and birds to be exposed to the effluent, and cutting them up to test them for selenium and other pollutants is cruel and outdated.  Canada is phasing out toxicity testing on animals.  Please switch to animal free methods of testing effluent and other substances.  For wild fish and birds, please stop lethal sampling and switch to humane non lethal bio monitoring like is done in humans. https://www.change.org/p/stop-testing-sewer-water-on-laboratory-fish   Please do not build another mine.  We are in the midst of a climate crisis. This proposal, which would damage and destroy the homes of black bears, caribou, birds, fish, and many animals, is terrible.  And gold mines destroy all sorts of animals in laboratory testing of their effluents, and in lethal sampling of birds, fish, frogs, etc.  We do not need more gold mines. Please preserve the trees at this location.  Please do not build on an area that has a lot of trees, and do not build on a wetland either.  Please do not harm animals with this project. Please do not use animal testing for pollution monitoring.  It mentions that laboratory tests on fish, and lethal samples of wild fish will be conducted. ...

  • I am very concerned about the destruction of the trees, wetlands, and environment to, ironically, create batteries for electric vehicles.  This is a very environmentally sensitive area home to many animals.  Please don’t build a mine on their home.  Please look for other ways to obtain lithium and metals. I am concerned that fish were caught to see what kind of fish live there.  Please switch to humane non lethal ways to identify animals.  I am very saddened that fish were killed to test for pollution.  Please stop lethal sampling and acute lethality testing of fish, frogs, birds, etc. Please switch to Non Animal Methods, or humane non lethal bio monitoring.  There are definitely effective non animal methods of ecotoxicology Please do not build this mine.  It cuts right through the homes of Indigenous people, most of whom do not want their homes and traditional way of life destroyed by this proposed mine. The mine will also displace caribou and many other animals.  Additionally, mining involves a lot of animal testing, with acute lethality tests on fish, and lethal sampling of free roaming wildlife.  Already, a lot of fish were killed to study the effects on the environment.  This is not consistent with Canada phasing out animal testing.  https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/programs/consultation-strategy-replace-reduce-refine-vertebrate-animal-testing.html       Please stop this destructive project, and instead invest in recycling Rare Earth metals, and encourage people to stop throwing out their phones every time there is a new model.
