Sundancer Solar Phase 2 Project
October 10 2026 - Natural Resources Canada has determined that the proposed Sundancer Solar Phase 2 project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:
- impacts on rights of Indigenous peoples;
- Indigenous knowledge; community knowledge;
- comments received from the public; and
- technically and economically feasible mitigation measures.
Mitigation measure related to noise:
The project inverters are anticipated to generate minimal operational noise and the updated inverter equipment selected for the project has a lower noise output than the equipment originally assessed. As a result, noise effects on nearby receptors are expected to be negligible. In the event operational noise concerns are identified following commissioning, the project owner would investigate the issue and implement appropriate mitigation measures as required. Potential mitigation measures could include acoustic barriers, equipment shielding, or other industry-standard noise control practices. Missioning, the project owner would investigate the issue and implement appropriate mitigation measures as required. Potential mitigation measures could include acoustic barriers, equipment shielding, or other industry-standard noise control practices.
