The proposed project

The Applicant is proposing to repair a deteriorated section of shoreline protection at Fraser Wharves site, located along the north bank of the South Arm of the Fraser River in Richmond, British Columbia at approximately 49.130668, -123.067900. The Project area consists of an approximately 20 to 25 metre-long section of shoreline where the existing rock protection has deteriorated, resulting in erosion of the bank and exposure of a steep embankment. The affected area is situated adjacent to the existing dike system.

The proposed include the removal of a portion of the existing deteriorated riprap shoreline protection and construction of a new riprap revetment along approximately 20 to 25 metres of shoreline. The works include excavation and grading of the shoreline, placement of geotextile, filter rock and riprap armour, and a tie-in of the new revetment to the existing shoreline protection. The works will be completed by land and is expected to take up to 3 weeks to complete between November 1 and February 28.
