Stz'umunis Elementary School – Public Comments Invited

Sept. 7, 2026 – The authorities must determine whether the proposed Stz'umunis Elementary School, located in Chemainus IR No. 13, BC is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, the authorities are inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project

The project includes a 2357 m2 elementary school, site services and supporting site infrastructure. The expected lifespan of the facility is 50 years. The proposed site for the project is on Stz'umunis reserve land – Chemainus IR No. 13.
