The Proposed Project
The Department of National Defence (DND) is proposing a project. DND proposes to install fourteen (14) permanent aircraft tie-down anchors to support two CC295 Fixed Wing Search and Rescue (FWSAR) aircraft parking positions on the North Apron adjacent to Hangar 9 at 8 Wing Canadian Forces Base Trenton. The project includes survey layout, concrete coring, localized excavation within the existing apron structure, installation of reinforcing steel and tie-down anchor assemblies, concrete placement and finishing, site cleanup, demobilization, and final as-built surveying. The activity will occur entirely within an existing developed concrete aircraft apron and is intended to provide aircraft restraint during high wind events.
