The Proposed Project
The proposed project consists of constructing a paved Ground Support Equipment (GSE) parking and staging area on previously developed airport lands adjacent to the terminal building and existing apron. The work includes pavement construction, grading, stormwater management infrastructure, subdrain installation, utility servicing for future electric GSE charging infrastructure, lighting modifications, and associated site works. The project will support airport ground operations, improve equipment storage and circulation. The total expansion area is approximately 2,200 m2.
During construction, stormwater runoff and sediment control measures will be provided by the site contractor, as required, and reviewed by the Airport Authority on a regular basis. All municipal, provincial and federal codes, standards, and best management practices will be followed. The expansion is within previously developed areas (i.e., existing GSE area or landscaped area) with no woodland or known sensitive ecological habitat being impacted.
