Sanitary Sewer Repairs - Phase 2

Notice of Determination

Quebec (QC) – August 12, 2026 – Indigenous Services Canada has determined that the proposed "Sanitary Sewer Repairs – Phase 2" is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

• Impacts on rights of Indigenous peoples;
• Indigenous knowledge;
• Community knowledge;
• Comments received from the public; and
• Technically and economically feasible mitigation measures.

Mitigation measures taken into account for this determination are:

• Water: several measures to protect watercourses and shorelines near the work and to manage surface water and sediments during the work;
• Air: clauses to ensure the management of dust and emissions during the work;
• Noise: measures to limit noise during work;
• Soils : measures to ensure the management of excavated soils and petroleum products handling ;
• Wildlife: measures to limit the impact on wildlife during the work, including for birds and aquatic fauna;
• Residual or hazardous materials:  measures to ensure the management of these materials.

Indigenous Services Canada is satisfied that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

Therefore, Indigenous Services Canada may carry out the project, exercise any power, perform any duty or function, or provide financial assistance to enable the project to be carried out in whole or in part.
