Transformer Replacement – Public Comments Invited

August 6, 2026 – The authority must determine whether the proposed Transformer Replacement, located in Ottawa, ON is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, the authority is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project

This project involves the replacement of transformer T1 at the Canadian Food inspection Agency site on Fallowfield Road. The existing transformer is from 1972 and is past end of life. The work includes electrical maintenance to continue operations at the campus, including removal of the old equipment and installation and testing of the new transformer.
