August 6, 2026 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) is proposing a project. 4 Canadian Division Support Group (4 CDSG) Environment Services, Garrison Petawawa, is proposing the environmental-compliance driven remediation of contaminated soils in a graveled parking and vehicle/equipment storage compound directly south of 80 Montgomery Road (Building BB-130). Soils characterized as exceeding applicable Federal soil quality guidelines will be removed from the site to a licensed receiving facility.
