Parks Canada and Canada Energy Regulator have issued a notice of determination and decided that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

This notice of determination is being issued by Parks Canada and Canada Energy Regulator under the Impact Assessment Act. Parks Canada and Canada Energy Regulator have decided that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

  • Impacts on rights of Indigenous peoples;
  • Indigenous knowledge;
  • Community knowledge;
  • Comments received from the public; and
  • Technically and economically feasible mitigation measures.

In summary, mitigation measures, further detailed in the report, are required for the project to address the following: water, fish, wildlife, birds, soil, migratory birds, species at risk, vegetation, and cultural resources. A complete list of mitigation measures taken into account for this determination is available in the impact assessment report and can be obtained upon request.
