Notice of commencement of an impact assessment

Ottawa — July 3, 2026 — The Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC) has commenced an impact assessment pursuant to the Impact Assessment Act for the Deep Geological Repository (DGR) for Canada's Used Nuclear Fuel Project.

IAAC, in collaboration with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, issued the following documents to the proponent to guide the development of the Impact Statement and the conduct of the integrated assessment for the project:

• Integrated Tailored Impact Statement Guidelines (Integrated Guidelines)
• Public Participation Plan
• Indigenous Engagement and Partnership Plan
• Cooperation Plan
• Permitting Plan
