Parking Lot, Watermain and Stormwater Management Upgrades at NRC's Montreal Road Campus
June 1, 2026 – The National Research Council (NRC) must determine whether the proposed parking lot, watermain, and stormwater management upgrades at building M54 on the NRC Montreal Road Campus, Ottawa, Ontario is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
To help inform this determination, the NRC is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

Proposed project
The National Research Council of Canada (NRC) is proposing upgrades to the parking lot, the watermain, and the stormwater management system at building M54 on the NRC Montreal Road Campus, Ottawa, Ontario.
The project will include the replacement of aging infrastructure including replacing watermains and storm drainage, the replacement of the parking lot and the upgrade of the sidewalk to meet accessibility needs. The infrastructure upgrades will overall improve drainage on site.
