Gatineau, QC - June 29th 2026 - Global Affairs Canada has determined that the proposed project TOGETHER is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:
-
technically and economically feasible mitigation measures.
Mitigation measures taken into account for this determination are:
-
Use of licensed driller, casing protection, sealing of borehole heads & management of drilling waste as well as technical training for local water committee on borehole operation basics to ensure risks of groundwater contamination are minimized.
-
Secure mounting of structures, surge protection, proper wiring standards and training of solar technicians to ensure risks of solar panel installation and decommisioning.
-
Use durable fencing materials and controlled access gate for fencing. Wildlife use is unlikely given the location of the fencing.
Global Affairs Canada is satisfied that that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
Therefore, Global Affairs Canada may carry out the project, exercise any power, perform any duty or function, or provide financial assistance to enable the project to be carried out in whole or in part.
