Demolition of G3 Canada Limited infrastructure and construction of the new Grain Terminal at the Port of Trois-Rivieres
March 16th, 2026 – Farm Credit Canada (FCC) has determined that the proposed demolition of infrastructure and construction of the new Grain Terminal is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:
community knowledge;
comments received from the public concerning the project; and
technically and economically feasible mitigation measures.
Note that there were two (2) comments received during the public commenting period. These comments were considered as they informed the analysis FCC undertook in making the determination.
Mitigation measures taken into account for this determination are:
A general contractor with extensive experience of this type of construction will carry out the work.
The client must have all required permits and comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations.
Inform FCC immediately upon becoming aware of any environmental issue and promptly provide any communications with environmental authorities to the involved parties.
FCC is satisfied that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. Therefore, FCC may provide financial assistance to enable the project to be carried out in whole or in part.
