Notice of commencement of an impact assessment

Ottawa — March 9, 2026 — The Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC) has commenced an impact assessment pursuant to the Impact Assessment Act for the Fording River Extension Project. IAAC and British Columbia's Environmental Assessment Office (the EAO) are working cooperatively on the project's review in accordance with Impact Assessment Cooperation Agreement Between Canada and British Columbia.

IAAC and the EAO have issued the following documents to the proponent to guide the development of the Application (named the Impact Statement in a federal-only process) and the conduct of the impact assessment for the project:

• IAAC's Federal Appendix to EAO's Application Information Requirements
• Joint Assessment and Engagement Plan
• Cooperation Plan
• Joint Detailed Permitting Plan
